Decide the new council for Northumberland name

The Background

At midnight on 31st March 2009, Northumberland County Council and the six district councils will cease operations and will be replaced by a single new authority.

The council is now considering whether it should adopt a new name for the new authority.

What are the options?

There are two options being considered:

1. Northumberland Council (the proposed new name for the new authority)
2. Northumberland County Council (the existing name of the county council)

The consultation ended at midnight on the 4th December 2008.
